The town is amphitheatrically built on the rocky part of the island and look likes a paintings with its stone mansions. A stroll along the picturesque alleys reveals an ideal balance of architecture and environment.
The island has a unique identity, since it combines a place full of atmosphere with a diverse natural beauties and a rich historical and cultural tradition.
Hydra has remained unspoiled with the passage of time. During the day, nothing disturbs the peaceful atmosphere and the quiet of the island, as cars and motorbikes are forbidden and donkeys are the only means of transportation.
In the night, Hydra is transformed as a lot of Greek and foreign celebrities who are visiting the island wanted to enjoy themselves at the night clubs.
Every summer, its port serves as a meeting point for groups of sailing boats, while hundreds of luxurious boats and yachts anchor safety in the harbour.
